Pacific Coast League—AAA—Iowa 9, Sacramento (Giants) 1
Dallas Beeler fired a gem and Iowa erupted for 18 hits to complete the sweep over Sacramento.
In the Box: 3B Javier Baez went 4-for-5, scored twice and knocked in a run to up his average to .324 and extended his hit streak to 16 games.....2B Emilio Bonifacio had four hits, including a pair of doubles, and knocked in a pair in his fourth game since being signed. 1B Christian Villanueva (.263) and SS Chris Valaika (.265) both drove in two runs while C Taylor Davis (.284) went 3-for-5 with a double and a RBI.
Pitching Chart: Dallas Beeler turned in another strong outing, working a career-high eight frames and retiring 19 in a row at one point before a walk with two outs in the 8th. Beeler, a candidate for a September call-up, had a game score of 82 and a line of 8 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K, in his 100-pitch outing, 73 for strikes.......Trevor Cahill tossed the 9th allowing a hit with a punchout.
I-Cubs Notes: Iowa heads to Oklahoma City for a five-game series and send Felipe Paulino (4-8, 4.79 ERA) to the mound. Iowa trails Oklahoma City by four games.
Southern League—AA—Tennessee 4, Jacksonville (Marlins) 3
Jeimer Candelario’s solo homer in the sixth proved to be the difference as Tennessee (72-60) beat Jacksonville (53-79).
In the Box: 3B Jeimer Candelario (.292) was on base four times, including his 4th AA homer that broke a 3-3 tie. He walked twice and scored two runs.....2B Stephen Bruno (.267) went 2-for-4 and RF Anthony Giansanti (.237) added a RBI.....1B Daniel Vogelbach (.281) was 1-for-4 and grounded into two double plays.
Pitching Chart: Felix Pena (6-8, 3.89 ERA) went seven innings, limiting the Suns to three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks. He fanned six, threw 104 pitches and had a game a score of 63.......Neil Ramirez made his first rehab appearance since going on the DL July 29 with abdominal soreness. The right-hander threw 17 pitches in the 8th, allowing a hit and a walk while recording a strikeout......Starling Peralta (2.10 ERA) worked around a a pair of walks in the 9th to record his fifth save.
Smokies News: Ryan Williams (9-2, 3.00 ERA) is scheduled to start Monday night against the Suns.
Carolina League—High A—Wilmington @ Myrtle Beach
Sunday’s game was rained out and will be made up as a doubleheader when the two teams play in Wilmington Sept. 4-7.
Midwest League—Low A—South Bend 4, Bowling Green (Rays) 3
Erick Leal tossed six shutout frames and South Bend (60-69) hung on to beat Bowling Green (66-65).
In the Box: Cubs scored three times in the second when David Bote walked and advanced to third on an Ian Happ double. Bote scored on a groundout and Happ crossed home on a Bowling Green error. Rashad Crawford capped off the frame with a RBI double.....In the fourth, Happ smacked his fifth homer for a 4-0 South Bend lead as they only had three hits in the game.
Pitching Chart: Erick Leal (10-8, 4.04 ERA) blanked the Hot Rods for six innings, surrendering two hits and a walk while fanning four. Game score 71.....Alex Santana (3.94 ERA) tossed a scoreless 7th but three walks and two throwing errors by the right-hander plated three runs in the 8th....Ryan McNeil (2.67 ERA) got out of the jam and worked a 1-2-3 ninth for his second save.

Northwest League—Short-Season—Eugene 10, Hillsboro (Diamondbacks) 4
Every starter had at least one hit as Eugene (36-34, 19-13) moved into first-pace with the win over HIllsboro (40-30, 18-14).
In the Box: Big night at the plate for the Ems as every starter had at least one hit. DH Ian Rice (.264) went 2-for-4 with a double and his second homer, a solo shot in the fifth. CF Donnie Dewees (.268), LF Eloy Jimenez (.284), and 1B Blake Headley (.234) all had two hits.
Pitching Chart: Carson Sands (3-4, 3.98 ERA) tossed a career-high six innings and fanned five in the win. He only allowed three hits but the Hops scored twice, one earned.....Greyfer Eregua (2.53 ERA) got charged with two runs as he only retired one hitter in the 7th, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks.....Tyler Peitzmeier (4.11 ERA) tossed 1.2 scoreless frames while Scott Frazier (7.71 ERA) got the final three outs, two on strikes.
Emeralds Notes: Eugene has Monday off and travel to Salem-Keizer for a big three-game series.

The Cubs got a first-round bye in the AZL playoffs and face the Mariners on Monday night. Dylan Cease is expected to get the start and will likely only go three innings.
