After watching the Cubs prospects the past three years, its nice to see a bunch of them in the same lineup and beating the Cardinals in the playoffs.
Arizona Fall League
Arizona Fall League gets underway on Tuesday, Oct. 13, with the Mesa Solar Sox traveling to Glendale. After finishing his first full pro season, outfielder Mark Zagunis, the Cubs third-round pick in 2014, will be roaming the outfield in Arizona. A catcher in college at Virginia Tech, Zagunis made the position switch and earned Carolina League All-Star honors in the process. In 115 games for Myrtle Beach, the 22-year-old hit .271/.406/.412 with 8 HR and 54 RBI. He walked 80 times and struckout 86 in over 400 at-bats. The right-hander was hitting over .300 in early July but struggled the final two months, batting .200 over his last 40 games.
Venezuelan Winter League
2B Bryant Flete went 3-for-4 with a double in Zulia’s 5-3 loss to Magallanes. Flete, 22, spent most of 2015 at AA Tennessee (.195/.303/.260, 44 games) in a reserve role after not playing above short-season in his first three seasons......Former Cub OF Rubi Silva went 3-for-5 with two runs and a RBI to help lead Lara to a 10-3 win over Margarita.
Dominican Winter League

Mexican Pacific Winter League
3B Christian Villanueva’s three-run homer in the 7th helped Obregon to a 4-0 win in the season opener. Villanueva finished 1-for-2 with a pair of walks. The 24-year-old slugged 20 homers between Tennessee and Iowa, 18 coming in AAA......Blake Parker earned his first hold for Mexicali, working a scoreless sixth in the 4-1 win. Parker, 30, missed most of the 2015 season with an injury and has spent part of three seasons in Chicago, going 1-2 with a 2.72 ERA in 46.1 innings in 2013. He was drafted by the Cubs in the 16th round in 2006.
