Rob Zastryzny got the start in Mesa but couldn’t stop the Solar Sox losing streak. Light day of action in the winter leagues.

Its official, the Cubs and Cuban OF Eddy Martinez have agreed to a $3 million signing bonus. The Giants had reportedly signed the 20-year-old for $2.5 million but that deal was never finalized by MLB.

Arizona Fall League
Left-hander Rob Zastryzny got the start for Mesa, who dropped their fifth straight, falling 10-6 to Scottsdale. Zastryzny didn’t figure in the decision but allowed three runs on six hits over four innings. The former second-round pick fanned four and threw 70 pitches in the outing, 47 for strikes. He finished with a game score of 42......C Willson Contreras went 1-for-3 with a run scored and two walks while LF Mark Zagunis was 0-for-2 with two walks. Zagunis is 0-for-6 in three games but has drawn five walks.

Venezuelan Winter League
Zulia beat La Guaria 5-2 on Monday in the only game and no Cubs prospects saw action.

Dominican Winter League
No games were played on Monday.

No games were played on Monday.
