Here’s a smorgasbord of news and notes from the Cubs Convention.......First off, “Cubs fan are the best”, pretty much every player that was interviewed over the weekend said this with a smile on their face........ Carl Edwards, Jr.. said he’s been working on a two-seam fastball and said his favorite part of being in the big leagues was the free food, Kyle Hendricks agreed with the food.........MVP Kris Bryant told reporters he had started hitting about two weeks ago and was ready for spring training to start.......Ben Zobristt said all he was trying to do was put the barrel of the bat on the ball in his Game 7 go-ahead single in the 10th inning and it was “the best slap hit” of his career.....While the Cubs Con was a big party, some fans and the media have not forgotten Game 7 and some of the moves manager Joe Maddon made. Maddon was questioned by fans for taking Hendricks out and over-using Aroldis Chapman. The Cubs skipper welcomed the second-guessing but stuck by his decisions.
