Cubs signing Brett Anderson and spring training games on TV and radio

The Cubs are close to signing left-hander Brett Anderson to strengthen their starting rotation. All 38 spring training games available to fans and a light night in Winter League playoffs.

Anderson headed to Cubs

Pending a physical, the Cubs will sign left-hander Brett Anderson to a one-year deal for a reported $3.5 million with incentives to earn up to $10 million, according to various reports. Anderson, 28, appeared in only four games for the Dodgers in 2016 after missing most of the year after back surgery. The former second-round pick of the Diamondbacks in 2006, Anderson tossed a career-high 180 innings for the Dodgers in 2015, making 31 starts while posting a 3.69 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP.  Anderson made his big league debut for Oakland in 2009 and was named the American League Rookie of the Month in September, finishing his rookie campaign at 11-11 in 30 starts with a 4.06 ERA in 175.1 innings. Tommy John surgery and a variety of other injuries have hampered Anderson’s career and limited his time on the mound (127 games, 685.2 IP, 3.86 ERA, 1.31 WHIP). The ground ball specialist would be an ideal fit with the Cubs infield and provides the North Siders with the sixth starter they've been searching for.
