A rematch of last year's World Series ended in a 1-1 tie.

Cubs and Tribe tie

In a rematch of the World Series, the Cubs and the Indians played to a 1-1- tied Sunday afternoon at Sloan Park in Mesa. The Cubs scored their only run of the game in the bottom of the fourth on a RBI infield single from Matt Szczur, plating Albert Almora. The Indians took a 1-0 lead in the top half of the fourth on a RBI ground out.

Eloy Jimenez got the start in left and ripped a single to left field in his first trip to the plate and finished 1-for-3. 3B Chesny Young went 0-for-2 and 1B Jeimer Candelario was hitless in three trips to the plate. Other Cubs prospects seeing action were DH Taylor Davis (0-0, BB), 3B Jason Vosler (0-1), CF Jacob Hannemann (0-2), 2B Ian Happ (0-2), Mark Zagunis (0-2), C Victor Caratini (0-2), and LF John Andreoli (0-2). 

Eight Cubs pitchers combined to hold the Indians to three hits. Jake Buchanan got the start and tossed two scoreless. Casey Kelly gave up a run in the fourth in his Cubs debut. Other arms working a scoreless inning were Zac Rosscup, James Pugliese, Gerardo Concepcion, Michael Wagnerr, David Rollins and Daniel Corcino
