South Bend scored three times in the fourth and evened the series at West Michigan.
Hitting Recap: 2B Yeiler Peguero knocked in the first run for the Cubs in the second wth a RBI single and plated two more runs with a single in the third, one scoring on a fielding error by the center fielder. Chris Pieters tripled and scored on a single from Jhonny Pereda in the fourth. Wladimir Galindo was 3-for-5 with a double and a RBI while Vimael Machin had two hits and scored twice.
Pitching Chart: Manuel Rondon got the start and went four innings, allowing three runs on two hits, both homers, and four walks. He fanned six in the 80-pitch outing for a game score of 37. Marc Huberman recorded the win in relief, tossing two scoreless with two walks and two punchouts. RH Dakota Mekkes fanned three over two shutout frames and Wyatt Short earned his second save, despite surrendering a run on two hits.
