Offseason Stuff

A recent study revealed that upward of 60,000,000 blogs were now available all across the web.

Even the Cubs' own television broadcast team is part of the blog craze, as are several minor league players such as Chris Walker, who from time to time checks in with his tales of life on the farm for this publication. You can find all of the various Cubs blogs in one place: CubsBlogArmy.com.

Which leads us to The Cub Reporter.

One of the most well-respected and frequently visited blogs of them all, since 2001, "TCR" and its many readers have been analyzing the Chicago Cubs to death. (It even says so somewhere on their site, located here.)

The website's publisher, Rob G., an avid Cubs fan and mutual acquaintance whose work I have admired for years, recently asked us to participate in a Prospect Q&A for his publication. We happily agreed and you can find the piece published on The Cub Reporter this week.

You can also enjoy some of Rob's analysis in a new magazine publication beginning this week. Visit The Cub Reporter's website for more details.

Inside The Ivy Radio Alert: For those in the Des Moines area, yours truly will chat live with sports radio veterans Marty Tirrell and Ken Miller of the "Marty and Miller Show" on 1460-AM KXNO in the 6 p.m. (CST) hour Tuesday.

KXNO is the broadcast home of the Triple-A Iowa Cubs and Inside The Ivy will be a featured guest on Marty and Ken's program all throughout the upcoming season.

As mentioned last week, we'll also be teaming with the Daytona Cubs, Class-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, for all 140 games as sponsor of the "InsideTheIvy.com Down on the Farm Report" following each broadcast this season, and make live weekly appearances with Daytona broadcaster Derek Ingram to discuss the latest in the farm system.

All 140 Daytona Cubs broadcasts can be heard on WELE 1380-AM in Daytona Beach and online at www.daytonacubs.com.

Inside The Ivy is also a weekly featured guest on pre-game broadcasts for the Boise Hawks, the Cubs' Class A affiliate in the Northwest League, each summer on KTIK 1350-AM, courtesy of the Hawk and Roll Show.
