McGehee down, Richie up

Casey McGehee was sent to Double-A Tennessee from Triple-A Iowa, while catcher Tony Richie was promoted from Tennessee to Iowa, the club's announced Friday.

McGehee returns to Double-A after spending all of 2006 at Iowa, where he batted .280 in 135 games. He hit 11 home runs and drove in 68 runs after being named to the 2005 Southern League All-Star team.

In 18 games with Iowa this season, McGehee batted .173. The 24-year-old was selected in the 10th round of the 2003 draft from Fresno State.

For his part, Richie was promoted to Triple-A after batting .217 in nine games with Tennessee. He batted .230 a season ago at Double-A in 72 games. The 25-year-old was a fourth-round draft pick from Florida State in 2003.
