Les Walrond Audio

METAIRIE, La. -- Les Walrond knows he won't be the Cubs first choice for a spot in the club's big league rotation any time soon. So instead of worrying about things out of his power, the left-hander is focusing on what he can control.

Walrond made it to Chicago late last season, where he picked up a start against his former team, the St. Louis Cardinals. In his first season with the Cubs, the veteran 30-year-old journeyman led the Triple-A Iowa staff with 10 wins and posted a 3.98 ERA.

After re-upping for a second year with the Cubs, Walrond has gone 3-2 with a 3.93 ERA in six starts at Triple-A this season.
