Audio: Jesse Estrada Interview

DAYTONA BEACH -- Cubs pitching prospect Jesse Estrada is proof that everything is bigger in Texas. At 6-foot-8 and 275 pounds, the El Paso native has a significant size advantage over opposing hitters.

Drafted in the 31st round of the 2004 draft from Grayson College in Denison, Texas, Estrada made 36 appearances at Class A Peoria a season ago and was 7-1 with a 3.32 ERA in 95 innings. He struck out 61 and walked 28.

This season, things haven't gone quite as well. In 19 appearances, including six starts with Class A Daytona, Estrada is 1-1 with a 5.79 ERA in 56 innings.

The 23-year-old right-hander has struck out 43 and walked 20.
