Cubs Prospect Video: Matt Matulia

DAYTONA BEACH -- Matt Matulia tore up the Florida State League in the month of April to help secure All-Star honors with Class A Daytona. Since then, the switch-hitting infielder has fallen on hard times.

After batting .341 in his first 22 games this season, Matulia is currently mired in a 2-for-32 slump that has pulled his average down to .251 in 68 games.

With the assistance of area scout Antonio Grissom, the Cubs drafted the 23-year-old Matulia from The Citadel in the 24th round of the 2006 draft.
