Chris Siegfried Promoted

Peoria, IL- The Peoria Chiefs in conjunction with the Chicago Cubs have announced that LHP Chris Siegfried has been promoted from the short-season affiliate in Boise. Siegfried is expected to join the team in Grand Rapids for the start of an eight-game road trip. The Chiefs active roster now stands at 25 players.

Siegfried's Upside Within Reach

After the draft, Siegfried was assigned to the Boise Hawks of the Northwest League where he made 14 appearances out of the Hawks bullpen. He went 0-1 with a 2.35 ERA and also recorded four saves in four chances.

Siegfried a native of McMinnville, Oregon was drafted in the 11th round of June's amateur draft out of the University of Portland. In 2007 with the Pilots the left-hander made 19 appearances out of the bullpen and also made two starts.

He went 1-2 with a 5.20 ERA while striking out 22 in 36 1/3 innings pitched. In West Coast Conference Play he gave up just six earned runs in 19 2/3 innings while posting a 2.75 average. He limited the opposition during conference play to a .246 average.
