METAIRIE, La. -- Mark Holliman remained on schedule by beginning the 2008 season at Class AAA Iowa. The 24-year-old right-hander tossed six scoreless innings of three-hit ball against Nashville in his most recent start, striking out six batters without allowing a walk en route to a no-decision.
"Holliman threw the ball great (Monday) and deserved better than what he got," said Iowa manager Pat Listach. "He was throwing four pitches for strikes and that's typical Holliman. That's what I expect of him."
Through two starts this season, Holliman has allowed two runs and seven hits in nine innings.
