Paul Goldschmidt Profile
Counted on to provide a power-hitting threat in the middle of the D-backs' lineup this season, Paul Goldschmidt got off to a rough start this spring. He was batting .150 with a double as his only extra-base hit through his first eight games. But Goldie is now on a three-game hitting streak that includes a grand slam Thursday and a two-run triple on Friday, raising his spring average to .231.
Last season, Goldschmidt's .474 slugging average trailed only Justin Upton (.529) and Aaron Hill (.492) among Diamondbacks with over 100 at-bats. Hill's combined totals with his time in Toronto yielded just a .356 slugging average, however.
