Trevor Bauer Profile
Trevor Bauer dealt seven shutout innings and matched a career-high in strikeouts Friday night, lifting the Reno Aces to a 4-0 victory over the Tucson Padres.
Bauer (3-0) scattered five hits over seven scoreless frames in a 101-pitch effort Friday night. After entering the game with more strikeouts than any other professional pitcher this season, the Arizona Diamondbacks' #1 prospect tied a career-best with 11 punchouts against the Padres.
Bauer's 1.97 ERA would rank first in the Pacific Coast League by nearly a full run had he enough innings there to qualify. Combined between Double-A and Triple-A, he is 10-1 with 102 strikeouts and a 1.79 ERA.
With the victory, the first-place Aces now have won five-straight games and 10 of their last 11. Reno has opened its 12-day, 11-game, three-city road trip with a 5-1 record.
