It was on a recent road trip to see the Rawhide in Visalia, California (Dbacks Advanced A affiliate), that I got to see what all the fuss was about on their #22 prospect, Anthony Banda. In 7 innings, Banda layed down his hand at the poker table, and won. With only 2 earned runs, no walks and a plus moving fastball sitting 91-93, he showed why he is on the organizations top watch list. It's been a homecoming for Banda, originally drafted in 2011 in the 33rd round by the Dbacks. It was Milwaukee who ultimately inked his deal in the 10th in 2012. The South Texas native has shown his maturity as a pitcher in 2015, as he has posted an impressive 1.27 whip and a 129/33 strike out to walk ratio. With the path he is on, Banda has the kind of stuff that could see him as a solid 4 hole type starter, and a major contributor.
