Top 50 Diamondbacks Prospects - Revised

As you know, the dynamic of the Arizona Diamondbacks organization changed dramatically just days after the FutureBacks Fifty debuted in December. Thanks, Josh Byrnes. As the minor league season begins, we present a revised listing of the Diamondbacks' Top 50 prospects.

Outfielders and pitchers did the most climbing on our rankings, as the Diamondbacks lost two top prospects at each position in the Dan Haren trade.  But while the organization re-stocked their pitching that same day in deals with the Astros and Royals, nothing was done to address the losses to an outfield that had been overcrowded.  Thus, outfielders that would have ranked higher in most organizations are now getting their just due.

We also took into account our offseason discussion with coaches, fellow players, scouts, and front office personnel when compiling these revised rankings.  Also, a player's spring performance and subsequent assignment factored in the evaluation.

See why these prospects ranked where they did in December by viewing our original list.  We continue counting down the prospects from the top half of December's list, providing background, quotes, and scouting reports for the very best that the Arizona Diamondbacks organization has to offer.

Note: A player's listed age is as of April 1st, 2008
