Diamondbacks Release Two Pitchers

The Arizona Diamondbacks have released right-handed pitchers Brett Reynolds and Dustin Glant.

Dustin Glant had spent six years in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization, meaning that he would need to have been protected on the club's 40-man roster to prevent his eligibility for the December Rule 5 Draft. The 27-year old Glant may not have drawn much interest anyway, as he compiled a 5.18 ERA over those six years, including a 7.51 mark this season and 6.03 last season with the Tucson Sidewinders.

There were performance issues behind the release of Brett Reynolds as well. A 17th-round pick in 2006, Reynolds has spent each of the past three summers playing for the Missoula Osprey. The 24-year old finished with a 3-9 record and 5.86 ERA over those three seasons, failing to show much improvement even while continually repeating Rookie-Ball.
