Josh Collmenter struck out nine batters in six innings while only allowing two hits and a walk, improving to 2-0 on the season. It was his second straight no-run, two-hit outing to begin the season. Chase Christianson followed Collmenter's start with his second consecutive scoreless outing of two innings, earning his first hold of the season in the process. William Spottiswood finished things off with yet another scoreless ninth inning. He is 1-0 with two saves on the year, and hasn't allowed a walk nor a run in 5.1 innings.
Visalia's offense was blanked in the first four frames, then scored at least once in each of their final four turns at bat. Leadoff man Ollie Linton was the best performer of the night, as he reached base three times, including a two-run double in the fifth that would provide Collmenter and company with all the offense they would need. Linton was also caught stealing in the first, but scored a run later in the game.
