Kershaw, Kemp Lead Dodgers to Blowout Win

Where is this offense coming from? I wish I could say it was a sign of things to come, but more of the run scoring has occurred later in the game, with b-teamers playing. Still nice to see, though.

Final Score: Dodgers 9, Rangers 0

-Clayton Kershaw made his spring debut and pitched three shutout innings. Pitch f/x had his fastball at 94 in the first inning, though he didn't strike any batters out. However, he threw 28 of his 42 pitches for strikes and induced five groundballs. He also picked off Nelson Cruz at first.
-Matt Kemp finally hit his first homer after a whopping five games. He sent the second pitch of the third inning over the center field wall. He also lined a single into left in the first inning.
-Speaking of hot hitters, Andre Ethier continues to impress with a triple in the third inning, his fourth extra base hit in as many games. He, too, singled in the first, plating Jerry Hairston Jr.
-Dee Gordon got on base twice, once via a walk (his 3rd of the spring) and stole his second base. Hopefully the increase in plate discipline carries over into the regular season.
-Juan Rivera hit his first homer of the spring, a solo shot in the 4th. Alex Castellanos hit his second homer in as many days. A.J. Ellis, Jerry Sands and Gorman Erickson all added doubles.
-Relievers Angel Guzman and Scott Rice pitched a scoreless frame each, while Fernando Nieve and Ryan Tucker each had two shutout innings.

< Lowlights

-Not much to report on the negative side today. Ivan De Jesus Jr went 0 for 2 and committed an error. Lace Zawadzki, Matt Angle and Russell Mitchell all went hitless.
