Dodgers Split Squads Win, Tie

Two teams, two results, neither a loss. That's spring training for you. Starters were split between squads, giving ample time to prospects and backups.

Final Score: Dodgers 5, Mariners 5 (Game 1)

Final Score: Dodgers 10, White Sox 6 (Game 2)

-Nathan Eovaldi, starting the early game, pitched three scoreless innings. Me made 26 pitches, 19 of which were strikes. Nathan also induced 5 groundball outs.
-Ramon Troncoso pitched around 2 hits to produce a shutout frame. Matt Chico struck out two in a perfect 8th and Josh Wall closed the door by striking out a pair in a scoreless 9th, touching 97 on the gun.
-In the later contest, Javy Guerra, Scott Elbert and Kenley Jansen worked a scoreless inning each.
-At the plate, four Dodgers homered: Matt Treanor, Juan Rivera, Jerry Hairston and Cory Sullivan. Rivera's homer was the second in as many days.
-Dee Gordon stole his third base of the spring, with Adam Kennedy and speedster A.J. Ellis adding a swipe each.

-Rough outing for Chad Billingsley in the late game. In 2 and a third innings, the righty surrendered 3 runs on 6 hits and a walk. He did manage to strikeout 3. Josh Lindblom relieved him and proceeded to allow two of Billingsley's inherited runners to score and yielded two more runs of his own.
-The worst pitching line of the day, and probably the spring, belonged to Ronald Belisario, who gave up 4 runs (3 earned) in an inning of work. He blamed a lack of focus on being forced to wear sleeves. Hopefully he'll be prepared next time.
-Alex Castellanos finally came back to Earth, going a combined 0 for 5 on the day. He was 0 for 4 in the early game and struck out pinch-hitting for Matt Kemp in the late game. He also committed an error at second base.
-Andre Ethier was a late scratch due to a stiff back. Doesn't seem serious but it would be wise to err on the side of caution.
-The roughest day, though, had to belong to Justin Sellers, who was hit in the face by a batted ball. Sellers attempted to stay in the game but was forced to exit after he started experiencing headaches.
