-The Isotopes, in front of former manager Tommy Lasorda, won their first home game of the season. Josh Fields and Jerry Sands went yard, each for the second time this year. Sands is now 7 for his last 19 after starting the season 0 for 13. Alex Castellanos drew his 7th walk and has hit safely in all but 1 game so far. Scott Van Slyke drew a walk and was hit by a pitch, raising his OBP to .447.
-It looked like Matt Magill was going to replicate Aaron Miller's start today, striking out 7 of the first 9 batters he faced, but he fell apart in the 3rd, allowing 3 runs. Luckily, that was all he'd allow and the pen was unhittable. J.T. Wise, Rafael Ynoa and Kyle Russell all doubled. Griff Erickson singled twice.
-Jesus Arredondo went from goat to hero in the span of an inning, as his error in the top of the 9th allowed the tying run to score. However, he made a key defensive play, throwing out the go-ahead run at the plate. He then singled with 1 out in the 9th and, after stealing second and going to third on an error during the same play, was plated by Joe Winker to give the Loons the win. Arredondo missed the cycle by a home run and now leads the league with a .462 batting average. Scott Schebler tripled and singled. Juan Noriega and Eric Eadington pitched a pair of shutout innings each.
