Dodgers Minor League Report - 5/16/12

Only two games played today and while Rancho lost an early contest, the Loons got the last laugh in a 16 inning marathon.

Great Lakes won 6-5

Yimi Garcia - 1 IP, 3 Hits, ER, 0 BB, 2 K's

-Early game for the Quakes, who got off to a great start in the first. After Martinez pitched around a pair of baserunners in the top of the frame, Landry, Pederson and Wingo hit three straight doubles to plate two. Martinez would give one back in the 2nd but nothing more. Then in the 6th, Freddie Cabrera would allowed 2 in the 6th and, while the Quakes would come back to tie it in the bottom of the inning, 3 more unearned runs would put Rancho behind for good. Pederson extends his hitting streak to 11, while Landry's reaches 10.

-From heel to hero, James Baldwin was 0 for 7 with 4 strikeouts through 15 innings. But none of that mattered when, with 2 outs and Jesus Arredondo intentionally walked in front of him in the bottom of the 16th, JB3 laced a double to right field to send Great Lakes to a walk-off win. Jesse Bosnik hit his 2nd HR of the year and stole his 7th base. O'Koyea Dickson stayed hot, collecting 3 singles. He's now batting .395. Joe Winker and Jesus Arredondo also had a pair of hits each.
