-In the Pacific Coast League, no lead is safe. The Topes were reminded of that fact tonight after they blew a 6 run lead by allowing a half dozen in the 6th. Mark of the beast? I think so. The club would blow another lead on a squeeze bunt in the top of the 8th. In the bottom of the frame, Kyle Russell would hit a leadoff single, be sacrificed to second and go to third on Aaron Miles' single. Joe Becker became the hero with a single to center to plate the eventual winning run. Josh Wall would recorded his 10th save of the season. Interesting fact: Aaron Miles started the game at shortstop, which is the 33rd time he's played the position in the minors. He played 122 games at short in the majors, most recently in 2011 for 3.1 innings with the Dodgers.

-Chris Reed returned from a bout with shoulder stiffness and pitched decently, allowing a run over 3 innings. Unfortunately, his offense could provide just 2 hits and no runs on the night so he took the loss. The hits belonged to Austin Gallagher and Mike Pericht. The team did manage three walks but went 0 for 4 with RISP and left 5 men on base. Joc Pederson drew his 10 walk in 23 games, giving him a .380 OBP.
