Brisbane Bandits leadoff hitter and centerfielder Hirotoshi Onaka reached base in four of his five plate appearances on Thursday in Australia, getting two singles and two walks. The Japan native stole two bases (his second and third) while also picking up an outfield assist by erasing a runner at first base.
On Friday, the 24-year-old Onaka went 0-for-3 but drew two walks.
Through his first seven games in Australia, Onaka is 9-for-26 (.346) with two doubles, five walks, and eight strikeouts. He's stolen three bases in four tries.
