Stripling Strong in Chattanooga Win

Chattanooga wins the last game of the series against the Tennessee Smokies 5-2.

The Lookouts trusted the mound to starting pitcher Ross Stripling for the first six innings. He showed a great amount of control over the ball, striking out seven batters.

Stripling controlled his fastball and stayed at an average 88-92 mph. His slider stayed between 82-87 mph, and his change up between 79-82 mph.

Chattanooga got on the board quick with a run in the first inning when J.T. Wise hit a line drive into right field bringing in Joc Pederson.

The Lookouts capitalized on their lead in the fifth through eighth inning when they scored four times.

Three of Chattanooga's players went on the scoreboard during the game with individual homeruns.

Osvaldo Martinez hit a homerun over the left field wall in the fifth inning.

Wise followed in the sixth when he hit a homerun over the right field wall.

Jan Vazquez was the last Lookouts to score a homerun during the game during the seventh inning.

The Lookouts last run of the game came in the eighth inning when Michael Thomas singled with a ground ball to center field, which brought in Pederson for the final run of the game.

Chattanooga ended their series against the Tennessee Smokies with a losing 3-2 record.
