Dodgers lose 4-0

The Padres got even with the Dodgers today throwing their own left handed Clayton. Clayton Richards

scattered 5 hits over 8 innings. Kenta Maeda struggled in his 2017 debut giving up 3 earned runs on 6 hits in five

innings to get the loss. The Dodgers had trouble with lefties all last year and at least in the second game of the

season they still are. But for you Statcast fans Yasiel Puig made a “4 star “ catch after running an estimated 89 feet

in 4.9 seconds, that is only made an estimated 35% of the time.

A little historical background for the Dodgers, They started off as the Brooklyn Bridegrooms in 1890-1898

because most of the players had gotten married before the season started. They turned into the Superbas and in

1911 and 12 then became the Trolley Dodgers as a tribute to the trolley cars running all over Brooklyn, then

shortened to the Dodgers in 1913. More later.

On a somber note our prayers go out to Dodger and Cardinal great Pedro Guerrero who recently suffered

a stroke. Hope you get well soon.
