Dodgers lose 13-5

The Dodgers let one get away tonight when the usually reliable Dodger Bullpen gave up 9 earned runs in

the 8 th inning allowing 14 batters to hit in a 13-5 loss to the Diamondbacks. As the game went to the bottom of the

8 th they were leading 5-4. A bases loaded walk tied the game, and then a Balk scored the go ahead run. But that

just opened the flood gates a Goldschmidt single scored 2, Thomas doubled in two more, Chris Iannetta single kept

the merry-go- round going and finally Descalso doubled to end the scoring at 13-5. Pollack Homered for the Dbacks.

For the Dodgers Corey Seager had three hits including a home run and Chris walker added a pinch hit homer.

Archie Bradley got the win for the Dbacks and Ross stripling took the loss for the Dodgers.

In this day in Dodger history in 1925 there were no games played due to the funeral of Charles Ebbets the

Owner of the Brooklyn club. Strangle his business partner and new team president Edward McKeever who took

over after Ebbets death would contract pneumonia at the funeral and would die 8 days later. In 1948 Leo Durocher

would return from his yearlong suspension for conduct unbecoming to baseball. But anyone who has seen the

movie 42 knows why, and maybe the commissioner wanted to make it a little harder on Branch Rickey for bringing

Jackie Robinson on board.
