Dodgers lose in 11

It took 11 innings for the Giants to beat the Dodgers tonight 4-1 as Ross stripling got the blown

save opportunity in the ninth and Grant Dayton got saddled with the loss. Andrew Toles was 3 for 5 in a

losing effort. In his short career Toles has a .294 batting average with 8 homers and 29 RBI’s, this

coming in 75 games. One thing I see is that he has walked 12 times and struck out 39. To me that is a

little high for a contact hitter without power. If you look at his minor league stats he hit .306 with not a

lot of pop, still with 66 walks and 229 strikeouts, still a high ratio for no pop.

The statcast shows his launch angle of 12.85 which shows he hits line drives. His speed would

dictate a gap hitter to take advantage of his speed. Exit velocity at 83.11 mph is below league avg. this

goes along with a lack of power. He is a great Leftfielder, with a strong arm and great speed. He should

help the team defensively.
