Chris Taylor making a big splash in the Dodgers lineup.

Tonight the Dodgers came alive and chased the Pirates right out of Dodger Stadium, as they

defeated Pittsburgh 12-1. The Offense is on fire scoring 22 runs on 23 hits. Chris Taylor is making himself

known in the Dodger lineup these days. A grand slam tonight to go with 2 other hits and his .371 batting

average is cementing his spot at second base. The 26 year old second baseman/shortstop has been hot

at the plate, but it’s no surprise he is has been a good hitter throughout his career. He tends to hit right

around the .300 level but hasn’t showed the power that he may be capable of. He is a spay hitter hitting

equally to all fields.

Like most hitters he prefers to hit fastballs at 54.1%, as opposed to the slider at 16%. According

to fangraphs, Taylor has good plate discipline swinging at only 22.4% of the pitches out of the strike

zone and 66.9% in the zone. This leaves him with a contact percentage of 73.2. The Dodgers have a great

bunch of young hitters, should make things a little interesting. Alex Wood, who replaced Brandon

McCarthy as he was placed on the DL, moved his record to 3-0 while getting 11 strikeouts. Congrats also

goes to Cody Bellinger who got Player of the week in just his second week in the show.
