Dodgers half game out

The Dodgers moved to within a half game of first place with a shutout of the Rockies 4-0. The

team is on a roll as Alex wood threw 6 shutout innings striking out 10. Homering today was Brett Eibner,

one of the newest Dodgers who has spent time with the Royals and A’s. He has spent most of his career

to this point in the minors trying to make his way to the show. For the most part he is a spray hitter who

makes good contact at the plate. His launch angle is 5.87 which is more conducive to ground balls, but

exit velocity is 98.70 which means he hits the ball hard, as the average velocity in the major leagues is

87.74.

Brett has been working hard in the minors since he was drafted in 2010. His perseverance paid

off as he broke though in 2016. His favorite pitch seems to be the fastball low and away. He looks like he

will be a perfect backup for the outfield as he plays all three spots. It doesn’t look like at this point if he

could take a starting spot but with Toles out he’ll have a chance to show the management what he can

do.
