Pitcher Brian Falkenborg, a talented but injury-struck righthander, is still recovering from a sprained knee and will not throw for at least a week or more. Fellow righthander Andrew Brown, who worked one inning inn 2003 before undergoing surgery to his elbow, pitched a solid inning during the second intrasquad game, retiring three hitters in order. Reliever Tom Martin, who signed a two-year, $3.3 million contract after his first injury-free season since 1997, came up with soreness in his right (landing) knee described as tendinitis. The problems came up after running drills and infield workouts.
