Dodgers swap pitchers with Seattle

The Dodgers received Glen Bott from Seattle for Aaron Looper, who along with pitcher Ryan Ketchner came to the Dodgers April 3 in a trade for Jolbert Cabrera.

Bott, a 22-year-old left-hander, was 7-7 with a 3.16 ERA, and a remarkable 143 strikeouts and only 38 walks last year at Single-A. He will report to the Dodgers' Double-A Jacksonville club.

Looper, a 27-year-old right-hander, was designated for assignment the day after his acquisition because the Dodgers needed a spot on the 40-man roster for outfielder Milton Bradley.

The club had 10 days in which to trade Looper, release him or place him on waivers with the intent of outrighting him to the minor leagues.
