Dodgers select new COO

Martin Greenspun, a 16-year veteran of professional sports operations and management, has been named as Chief Operating Officer of the Los Angeles Dodgers, owner Frank McCourt announced. A Los Angeles native, Greenspun leaves his post as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of the New York Yankees to assume responsibility for all aspects of the Los Angeles Dodgers' business operations. Greenspun will officially join the organization on May 17.

"Marty possesses an unparalleled range of strategic financial expertise, and we anticipate he will have an extremely positive, innovative impact on the Los Angeles Dodgers," McCourt said. "I've spoken at length about the necessity of fiscal responsibility and accountability within this organization, and Marty's track record with the Yankees, Angels, Mighty Ducks and Kings shows he's the ideal individual to lead us forward in enhancing this franchise's revenues."

"Having grown up in Los Angeles as a lifelong Dodger fan, this is my ultimate dream job," Greenspun said. "I want to thank Frank and Jamie McCourt, as well as the entire Dodger organization for giving me this opportunity. I look forward to coming home to friends and family in Los Angeles."
