Dodger Minor League Prospects

This is the second in a series on Dodger minor league prospects as we count down toward the top hopefuls in the system.

Power is the name of the game here. He set national home run records while in high school and continued to pound the long ball at Indian Hills (Iowa) Community College where in 1973 he sent 24 out while batting .373 and driving in 78 runs in 59 games . However, he ripped up a knee which caused him to drop down in the draft where the Dodgers selected him in the 16th round that June.

Signed, he spent the remainder of the year re-habbing before debuting this past summer with the Gulf Coast entry where he was .295-6-32. He shows a quick bat and smooth, level swing . However, the knee injury limited his range in the field and he mostly D.H'ed , He has a solid frame and plays hard. How often he can drive for distance will determine his future.
