Dodger Minor League Prospects

This is the third in a series on Dodger minor league prospects as we count down toward the top hopefuls in the system.

Name- Jordan Taylor Pratt
Position- starting pitcher
DOB- May 17, 1985
Residence- Monmouth, OR
20O4 Club (s) - Ogden

Since when does a guy who has a 2-15 record with ERA's of 7.69 and 9.50 in his first two years considered a prospect? When he has the kind of arm that Pratt has, that's when. His fast ball is consistently in the low 90's and his secondary pitches are developing. What's more, he's intelligent- a 4.0 student in high school who altered his plans of studying engineering at Washington State to turn pro.

Yet , all this hasn't translated into anything resembling success in his two seasons in the Pioneer League although he threw very well in the extended camp this past spring. Lack of experience was his downfall the first year, erratic command, the second.. He's still only 19 and should he smooth out, he could come on.
