Something of a late bloomer, Myrow wasn't drafted out of college (Louisiana Tech), signing with independent Winnipeg, in 1999. He played there three years and was hitting .386 when the Yankees purchased his contract in 2001. The Dodgers got him for pitcher Tanyon Sturtze this season.

He' s become a consistent .300 plus hitter over the years and did so again for Las Vegas , batting .359 which prompted his promotion to the 40-man roster.

He has gap-type power which produces doubles and an occasional home run with 18 his high in that department (2003 with Trenton.) He's versatile in the field, playing first base for the most part this past season but can serve at third and in the outfield.

He's a long shot to earn a bench role for the big club so may well return to AAA and work for an opening that could move him up.
