Position- Relief Pitcher

Osoria was born with six fingers on each hand although one digit was surgically removed from his right (pitching ) hand so there 's no unusual advantage there. What he does is throw from a three-quarters arm slot with a fast ball that has natural sink to it. It produces ground ball outs that make him perfect for coming in with men on and a double play is in order.

Although he was a starter in his first two years (2000-2001 in the Dominican Summer League), he's been a middle reliever ever since coming over to the U.S. in 2002.

That's what he did this past year at Jacksonville, appearing in 51 games, going 8-5, 3.56 with five saves. He has excellent control, walking only 18 batters in 81 innings while striking out 73. He throws a slider as well as a 90 plus fast ball and has excellent movement on all his pitches.

He's been promoted to the 40-man roster this winter and will undoubtedly be on the Las Vegas staff in 2005.
