He's listed at 6 feet tall but there's room for doubt on that one. Rather the has a squat muscular frame from which he can drive a ball a long way. He broke in most impressively in 2003, hitting .307-7-47 in 69 games for Ogden after being selected in the fourth round of the draft that June. This past season, though he fell off to .265-9-72 with only that RBI total about what had been expected in his first full season.

The reason was rather injudicious choice of pitches to swing at so he needs work on that score to take advantage of his short, compact stroke. He does drive the ball to all fields very well. In the field, he has an excellent arm (which made him a top high school, pitcher) and fine range though he needs to run better routes to the ball.

In all, it appears that his journey through the system might take longer than was first predicted but he has the ability to be a force when he becomes more experienced. He probably will start the year at Vero Beach in 2005.
