2004 World Series Shares Announced

A full World Series share for the World Champion Boston Red Sox was $223,619.79, Major League Baseball. A share for the National League Champion St. Louis Cardinals was $163,378.53.Los Angles earned $24,473 for winning the N.L. West Division.

The players' pool, formed from 60 percent of the gate receipts from the first three games of the Division Series and 60 percent of the gate receipts from the first four games from the League Championship Series and World Series, was divided among 12 clubs: the World Series participants, the League Championship and Division Series runners-up, and the second-place finishers in each of the six divisions that were not wild card participants.

League Championship Series Runners-up New York Yankees (Share of Players' Pool: $5,063,836.83; Value of each full share: $94,061.07) The Yankees awarded 46 full shares, 26 partial shares and one cash award.

Houston Astros (Share of Players' Pool: $5,063,836.83; Value of each full share: $101,181.74) The Astros awarded 39 full shares, 28 partial shares and eight cash awards.

Division Series Runners-up Los Angeles Dodgers (Share of Players' Pool: $1,265,959.21; Value of each full share: $24,473.40) The Dodgers awarded 44 full shares, 22 partial shares and three cash awards.

Anaheim Angels (Share of Players' Pool: $1,265,959.21; Value of each full share: $25,138.15) The Angels awarded 43 full shares, 17 partial shares and nine cash awards.
