WILLIE AYBAR, 3b, Las Vegas . It might have been a short week but in the first four games, Willie excelled with seven hits in 16 at-bats for a .438 mark. That included one double and two home runs, good for 10 RBI. He also played flawlessly in the field.

ALBERT BASTARDO, Columbus. There were several sparkling pitching performances and certainly one of the brightest was that of the lefthander Bastardo. A Rule 5 acqusition from the Baltimore orgaization, Bastardo made his Dodger debut by throwing five innings of four-hit ball, allowing just one run over that span. He picked up the first victory of the season for the Catfish as he walked only two while striking out 10.
