Alexander and Kemp Players of the Week

Each week will salute outstanding performances in the Dodger system by a batter and pitcher

Matt Kemp of, Jacksonville- Kemp began to do what has been expected of him this past week as he ripped 10 hits in 26 at-bats, including three doubles and his first two home runs of the season, driving in six runs. In the process, he extended his hitting streak to 11 straight games, upping his batting average to .309.

Mark Alexander, Jacksonville. Alexander continued his excellence as the Suns closer with a busy week that saw him make four appearances in which he saved three games. Over that span, he pitched four innings, giving up just two hits and no runs, walking only one batter while striking out seven. He now has thrown 8.2 innings this season without yielding a single earned run.
