Billingsley, Pedroza Players of the Week

Each week LAdugout .com will salute a Dodger minor league player and pitcher for outstanding performances.

Sergio Pedroza, of. Columbus. Entering the week, Pedroza had managed only one home run but he changed that with quite a power display. In the seven games Columbus played during the week of April 23-29, Pedroza drove four out of the yard accounting for 12 runs batted in. This along with a double and three singles, raised his batting average to .296 with 19 RBI.

Chad Billingsley, Las Vegas. There were some especially sparkling pitching performances by the Las Vegas staff - notably Aaron Sele and Eric Stults- but Billingsley outdid them all on April 28 when he went seven and one-third innings against Colorado Springs before yielding a hit, a single. He walked only one while striking out eight in his eight innings. He now is 3-0 with a 1.59 ERA, striking out 31 while walking only 10 in 28.1 innings thus far.
