Catfish Teammates Players of the Week

Each week salutes a Dodger minor league player and pitcher for outstanding performances.

David Sutherland, 1b, Columbus - The 6-6 Australian got his bat smoking the week of April 30-May 6 as he stroked 11 base hits in 25 at-bats for a .440 average, including two doubles in the mix. He followed by getting his next week off to a strong start with a game-winning 10th inning homer run Sunday. He's now batting .318 for the season.

Brent Leach, Columbus - It was another strong outing for the lefthander who was drafted in the sixth round from Delta State last June. In this one, he threw 6.2 shutout innings against Augusta on May 3, striking out eight while walking only two. He's now 2-1, 3.00 with 43 strikeouts in 30 innings.
