Loney's First Homer Keys Las Vegas Win

James Loney had five runs batted in, including a three-run homer, as Las Vegas smothered Nashville 15-5 behind Chad Billingsley's fourth win. Jacksonville lost a tight game 6-2 on a three-run triple in the eighth at Mobile. Columbus was blanked 5-0 despite Marlon Arias' nine strikeouts and Vero Beach had Sunday off.

James Loney drove in a season-high five runs in Las Vegas' 15-5 romp over visiting Nashville on Sunday. The 22-year-old first baseman had an RBI double, a sacrifice fly and banged his first homer of the season, a three-run shot, in the seventh inning.

Sergio Garcia hammered a three-run shot in the first for Las Vegas (23-14) to get them off and running early. Edwin Bellorin and Delwyn Young recorded a pair of RBI each. Jeff Duncan went 4-for-5 while Jon Weber and Chris Truby drove in a run apiece.

The 20 hits and 15 runs are the most this year for the 51s, who have won six of their last eight games.

Right-hander Chad Billingsley (4-0), in his eighth start, went five innings, allowing one run on three hits while matching his season high with nine strikeouts.
