Orenduff, LaRoche Pitcher, Player of the Week

Each week LAdugout.com salutes a player and pitcher from the Dodger organization for outstanding accomplishments.

Andy LaRoche, 3b, Jacksonville. That thunder you heard was LaRoche's bat awakening after a long slump. For the week of May 14-20, LaRoche collected nine hits in 23 at-bats including three home runs and two doubles. He drove in 11 runs during that span and now ranks second in the Southern League in that department with 32. He's currently hitting .278 with five home runs.

RHP Justin Orenduff, Jacksonville. Coming off a short stint on the disabled list because of a sore elbow, Orenduff was the complete master on May 18 against Mississippi , throwing six innings in which he didn't allow a hit nor a run. He struck out four while walking three during that stint. For the season, he's now 2-2, .3.62 with 44 strikeouts in 37.1 innings.
