Hanrahan and Locke Players of the Week

Each week LAdugout.com salutes a player and pitcher from the Dodger organization for outstanding accomplishments. Winners chosen from the Las Vegas, Jacksonville, Vero Beach and Columbus teams for the eighth week are:

Drew Locke, of, Columbus… Locke batted over .500 with power for the week of May 21-27 as he ripped 14 hits in 27 at-bats including a home run, a triple and four doubles in his barrage. In the process, he stretched his hitting streak to 12 straight games and drove in nine runs. For the season, he's now hitting .357 with five homers and 40 RBI.

Joel Hanrahan, RHP, Jacksonville… So far, Hanrahan is looking more and more like the pitcher who was the Southern League Pitcher of the Year in 2003. He had his best start yet May 25 when he threw seven innings allowing only two hits and a single run against Huntsville. He walked only two and struck out six in that contest. For the season, he's now 4-2 with a 3.17 ERA, having struck out 44 batters in 48 innings.
