Alexander, Rogowski Players of the Week

Each week salutes a player and a pitcher from the Dodger organization for outstanding accomplishments. The players selected this week from Las Vegas, Jacksonville, Vero Beach, Columbus, Ogden and the Gulf Coast Dodgers:

Ryan Rogowski, of, Ogden- Rogowski is proving to be a valuable leadoff man for the Raptors. This past week he batted an even .500 with 10 hits in 20 at-bats. So far this season, he leads the Raptors in batting average (.350), on-base percentage (.459) and stolen bases (4).

Mark Alexander, rhp, Jacksonville- Alexander went right on doing what he's been doing all season for the Suns. On July 14 against Tennessee, he came in for a perfect ninth that included striking out two of the three men he faced. The next night, again against Tennessee, he did it again- a 1-2-3 ninth with one strikeout. That gave him 22 saves for the season, only one shy of the total that he led the organization with in 2005. He's only allowed three earned runs in 41 innings for an 0.66 ERA and has struck out 62 men while walking only 11. This is the second time he's been so honored.
