Stults, Taloa Pitcher, Player of the Week

Each week salutes a player and pitcher from the Dodger organization for outstanding accomplishments during the past seven days. Players selected from Las Vegas, Jacksonville, Vero Beach, Columbus, Ogden and the Gulf Coast Dodgers this past week are-

Rick Taloa, 1b, Ogden- Taloa put on a midweek power display for the Raptors that started July 18 when he sent two out of the yard. He added another the next night and on July 20 ripped still another. That added up to four home runs in three days. He also collected four additional hits during that span and wound up with six runs batted in. He now has six homers for the season while batting .273.

Eric Stults, lhp, Las Vegas. Like most Las Vegas pitchers, Stults has not been having a standout season. In fact, he hadn't won since June 8 when he faced Tacoma, July 19. That night he certainly had it as he went the distance in a 6-1 victory, giving up only four hits and two walks while striking out five. It brought his season's mark up to 6-8 with a 4.59 ERA.
